Spring Teens Performance.jpg

Ages 11- 18
For intermediate and advanced singers

Our Spring Teens Music group sings barbershop music, often referred to as the "extreme sport" of the music world. Barbershop music is a style of music where singers perform 4-part vocal harmonies without any other instruments. In our group, students learn to sing music with barbershop harmonies in preparation to sing in quartets (4 member groups). Quartets are then able to compete annually in a local competition hosted by Sweet Adelines International Region 10 in Houston, Texas. Our singers find musical and personal growth, as they work together as a team to achieve beautiful music.

In addition to vocal technique, we work on:

Ear-Training | Sight Singing | Music Theory | Harmony Singing | Performance Skills | Audition Techniques

What does this style of music sound like? What are the competitions like?

Each year select quartets are able to represent a region of Sweet Adelines International in competing in the Rising Star Competition. Here are some past champions.

"Keturah is an amazing teacher and person, my daughter has been taking voice lessons with her and loves her classes."
